Finding Stability When the World Feels Unstable

There’s no denying it: the world feels like a bit of a whirlwind these days. Everywhere you turn, there’s news of something chaotic, something unpredictable, something unsettling. Sometimes it feels like you're just trying to hold on, watching as everything spins out of control, unsure if calm will ever come. But what if, in the middle of all the chaos, you could find your own sense of stability? It’s not about pretending everything is fine when it’s not, or forcing yourself to feel okay when you’re not. It’s about creating little pockets of peace within yourself that you can return to, even when the world seems to be on fire. Think of it as building your own internal anchor that holds you steady, even when the storm is raging outside.

So, How Do You Find Stability in an Unstable World?

  1. Breathe Like You Actually Mean It: Stop and take a few deep breaths. Inhale, hold it for a second, and exhale slowly. Do it a few times, and really focus on the sensation of the breath.

  2. Create Your Own Sanctuary: Give yourself a space that feels like a safe haven. Maybe it’s five minutes of solitude, or your favorite blanket and tea.

  3. Ground Yourself in What You Can Control: Ask, What can I control today? Start small.

  4. Be Gentle with Yourself: You don’t need to have it all together. You’re already enough, just as you are.

  5. Reconnect with Nature (Or Whatever Feels Like Nature to You): Step outside, light a candle, play music—whatever calms your spirit.

Remember, You’re Allowed to Set Boundaries with Chaos.

You don’t have to absorb every piece of drama that’s going on in the world. Take a social media break, limit news intake, or say, “I need a break from the chaos right now.” That’s not selfish—it’s self-preserving.

Finding Your Own Stability Takes Time

Stability doesn’t mean life is perfect. It means you’ve found a way to return to yourself—again and again. Even in the hard seasons. Especially then.So take your breath. Find your calm. And know this: it’s okay not to be okay. You’re doing better than you think.

If things feel a little heavy lately, or if you're just looking for space to breathe and sort through it all, support is here. No pressure. Just a safe place to land when you're ready.
